We want WheresNow to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement covers wheresnow.net and the WheresNow mobile apps.

Our target

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA and the requirements of EN 301 549.

Current status

WheresNow is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA: some parts don't yet fully meet the standard.

This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by our own team on 29 October 2026. It hasn't been audited by an independent third party.

Known limitations

  • Maps. The live map shows people and places visually. Screen readers can't fully explore it.
  • App labels. Some buttons and icons in the app don't yet have descriptive labels for screen readers.
  • Colour contrast. We haven't yet checked every screen of the app and website for colour contrast.
  • Third-party content. The support chat (tawk.to) and the spam check on the contact form (Google reCAPTCHA) are provided by other companies, and we can't fully control how accessible they are. You can always email us instead.

We're working through these gaps and will update this statement as we fix them.

Feedback

If you can't access something on our website or in our app, contact us at [email protected]. Tell us what you were trying to do and the device or assistive technology you were using. We aim to reply within 10 business days. If you need information in a different format, ask and we'll do our best to provide it.

Enforcement

If you're not satisfied with our response and you live in the European Union, you can complain to the authority that enforces the European Accessibility Act in your country. Elsewhere, you can contact your national equality or consumer protection body.
