Opt-Out Guide — Managing and Deleting Your WheresNow Data

Your Data Rights

Privacy laws such as GDPR (Europe) and CCPA (California) provide you with important rights regarding your personal data.

You have the right to:

• Access — view the data WheresNow stores about you.
• Correct — update inaccurate information.
• Delete — remove your account and associated data.
• Port — receive your data in a transferable format.
• Opt out — choose not to participate in certain data processing activities.

WheresNow respects these rights globally, regardless of where you live.

Opting Out of Analytics

WheresNow uses anonymised and aggregated analytics to improve the app experience.

To opt out:

1. Go to Settings → Privacy → Data Preferences.
2. Turn off Share Analytics Data.

Your preference takes effect immediately. Analytics does not include personal identifiers, but opting out ensures your app usage data is not included in improvement analytics.

Downloading Your Data

You can request a copy of the information WheresNow stores about you.

To download your data:

1. Go to Settings → Privacy → Download My Data.
2. Confirm your identity through email.
3. Receive a download link within 48 hours.

Your data export may include:

• Account information
• Location history
• Circle membership details
• Message records

Deleting Location History

You can remove stored location history without deleting your entire account.

To clear location history:

1. Go to Settings → Location History.
2. Select Clear All History.
3. Confirm deletion.

Deleted history is permanently removed within 24 hours. This action cannot be undone.

Permanently Deleting Your Account

Deleting your account removes your WheresNow data according to the account deletion process.

To permanently delete your account:

1. Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account.
2. Enter your password to confirm.
3. Select Delete Permanently.

After deletion:

• You are removed from all Circles.
• Your location history is deleted.
• Your account cannot be recovered after the deletion period.

If you change your mind, you can cancel the deletion request within 7 days by logging back into your account.
