Question 1

What is WheresNow and how does it work?

Accepted Answer

WheresNow is a comprehensive family location tracking app that brings peace of mind by keeping you connected with loved ones. It uses advanced GPS and network signals to provide precise real-time location sharing, allowing you to track kids going to school or family members traveling.

Question 2

Is the WheresNow family tracking app free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, WheresNow offers a free tier with basic core features for family members. Premium subscriptions are available for those who need advanced tracking features, such as 7 days to 2 months of extended location history playback and unlimited private location sharing circles.

Question 3

How accurate is the real-time GPS tracking?

Accepted Answer

WheresNow uses advanced GPS triangulation combined with cellular and Wi-Fi data to provide real-time, zero-lag location updates within 5-10 meters. This ensures you have an accurate, live family locator whenever you need it.

Question 4

What happens if a family member's device goes offline?

Accepted Answer

If a device loses internet connectivity, our location sharing app will securely cache and display their last known location and timestamp. Once the device is back online, it will automatically resume real-time GPS tracking.

Question 5

Is my family's location data secure and private?

Accepted Answer

We take it seriously. Your data is encrypted in transit between your device and our servers, and your location is shown in the app only to the members of your private Circles and to anyone you send a share link to. WheresNow is not end-to-end encrypted: our servers process your location to power features like Places alerts and SOS, and a limited number of WheresNow team members can access account data to run the service and support you.

Question 6

How do I get notified when someone arrives or leaves a location?

Accepted Answer

You can easily set up Geo-Fenced safe zones (like home, school, or work) within the WheresNow app. You will receive automatic push notifications when a Circle member enters or exits these designated locations, making it a perfect family routine tracker.

Question 7

How does the Crash Detection and Emergency SOS feature work?

Accepted Answer

Our Crash Detection feature monitors sudden changes in speed to detect potential vehicle accidents and automatically alerts your Circle members. In addition, by tapping the Emergency SOS button, you can send an immediate distress alert with your precise location to all members in your family circle.

Question 8

How many private tracking circles can I create?

Accepted Answer

The Free plan allows for 1 primary family Circle. The Premium plan supports up to 10 Circles, allowing you to organize separate private location sharing groups for family, extended relatives, close friends, and carpools.

Question 9

How do I reset my password if I forget it?

Accepted Answer

Go to the WheresNow app Login screen and tap 'Forgot Password?'. You will be able to securely reset your password using your registered email address.
