WheresNow's Multilingual Family Location Chat bridges the communication gap for families spread across different countries, generations, and languages. Rather than switching between a separate messaging app and a GPS tracker, the chat is built directly into the WheresNow circle — so location context and conversation happen in the same place, at the same time.

The feature currently supports eight languages: English, Sinhala, Tamil, German, Spanish, French, Hindi, and Arabic. This multilingual approach is deliberate — many families include grandparents or relatives abroad who are most comfortable communicating in their mother tongue. WheresNow makes it possible for a teenager in London to message their grandmother in Colombo in a language she actually reads fluently.

Location commands are deeply integrated into the chat experience. A simple command instantly embeds your current GPS coordinates as a live, tappable pin inside the conversation — eliminating the need to screenshot a map or try to describe where you are in text. When meeting up with someone in an unfamiliar place, this feature alone saves significant time and confusion.

Photos, voice notes, and location pins can all be shared within the chat alongside standard text messages, and read receipts confirm when each circle member has seen your message — providing the same assurance you'd expect from a modern messaging platform. Emergency alerts sent from the distress feature also surface inside the circle chat, ensuring that any urgent message reaches every member immediately and is not buried in a separate notification.
